The Editorial Content Manager is a new position within Internal Communications, the team responsible for informing, engaging and inspiring Disney Signature Experiences (DSE) Cast and Crew. This individual will identify ways to proactively tell the story of the people behind the magic of Disney while supporting DSE business goals. We are looking for someone who will relentlessly look for ways to bring a fresh approach to the work, while staying abreast of trends and new opportunities in communications.

The Editorial Content Manager reports to the Senior Manager of Internal Communications and will have oversight of the production of photos, videos, intranet articles and social media campaigns. This role will support the broader Public Affairs team by producing content used in external communication channels such as websites and media relations campaigns to enhance the reputation of the company.

The Manager’s skill set should include solid news judgement, creative writing, video production, strong partner relationships as well as organization and time management. Personal skills include the ability to adapt in a fast-paced and changing environment, work well solo or with teams, and to learn and adjust to keep our work fresh and relevant year after year.


  • Creating a content strategy map to sustain the new DSE intranet site, ensuring the content is compelling, interactive and timely.
  • Developing a promotional campaign to drive audiences to the intranet, which is a new home for news and information about Disney Signature Experiences.
  • Developing an editorial calendar integrated with key public relations and public affairs events/milestones that support our diverse businesses.
  • Tracking and reporting metrics to better inform communication strategy decisions.
  • Occasional design work for digital signage and print needs for shoreside and shipboard backstage areas.
  • Overseeing the creation of high-quality editorial content, including managing video/photo shoots and working with partners to share stories about our unique businesses and the people who make the magic.
  • Serving as strategic partner for DSE business clients and operational teams, building effective relationships and identifying integration opportunities.
  • Exploring new ways to communicate with our Cast and Crew, leveraging content across platforms whenever possible.
  • Writing for internal communications vehicles, including The Hub; Disney Parks Blog; Crew Mail, DSE and DPEP segment newsletters; operational update emails, etc.
  • Supporting Global Disney Parks, Experiences and Products and Enterprise campaigns by developing site tactics for initiatives such as heritage month celebrations, anniversaries, etc. in addition to handling confidential information.
  • Determining where our existing communications channels could be improved and working with key stakeholders to drive change.
  • Maintaining awareness of company, industry and overall business issues, goals, trends and challenges.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience using storytelling as a key strategy for producing engaging content.
  • Ability to manage and interview on-camera talent and spokespersons to articulate effective key messages.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; high level of attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Associated Press style guidelines. Strong copyediting and proofing skills are required.
  • Skilled in working with all employee communications apps and platforms (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote/PowerPoint, Word Press, collaboration tools, video, photography, etc.).
  • Effective self-starter with the proven ability to proactively generate and produce content.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of corporate communications or journalism experience.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Experience being actively engaged in editorial processes and meetings
  • Proven solid writing skills and editorial judgment.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization.
  • Proven excellent interpersonal skills combined with a strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story desired.
  • Creative, highly organized.
  • A commitment to working in ways that support and encourage diversity, equity and inclusion.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, English or related field, or equivalent experience
